Introduction
Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric survival horror game developed and published by Behaviour Interactive. Participants consider the role of one of the 14 Survivors: Dwight Fairfield, Meg Thomas, Claudette Morel, Jake Park, Nea Karlsson, Laurie Strode, William ‘Bill’ Overbeck, Ace Visconti, Feng Min, David King, Quentin Smith, David Tapp, Kate Denson, Adam Francis, or Jeff Johansen. The Survivor’s activity options consist of running, walking, crouch-walking, or creeping. They must evade the Killer by failing its line of sight in a pursuit or by successfully concealing themselves from it.

Dead by Daylight takes the middle ground of a horror slasher film and rephrases it into a competitive, asymmetrical game. But in a twist for the genre, the four people who play the survivors are greatly helpless when pushed to face off against the anomaly of the week. Instead, the survivors are finishing their time trying to trigger the tasks that will permit them to exit the map, while the killer is trying to ensure that no one else is left alive.
